Auto Glass Across Folcroft and the Chester Pike Boroughs

Chester Pike does most of the work. Folcroft, Sharon Hill, Glenolden, Norwood and Prospect Park sit along it within a couple of miles of one another, so from most of those streets you are at the shop in under ten minutes without touching a highway. Darby and Collingdale come down the Pike or across MacDade Boulevard, five to twelve minutes depending on how the lights run at the Darby end. Ridley Park is about ten, out MacDade or the Pike. Lansdowne and Yeadon sit further north toward the city line and take twelve to fifteen, usually down Lansdowne Avenue through Darby. The SEPTA Wilmington/Newark line shadows the same corridor with stations in Sharon Hill, Folcroft, Glenolden, Norwood, Prospect Park and Ridley Park, so getting home from the shop and back again is rarely the obstacle people expect. One thing worth planning around: the shop runs 8:00 to 4:00 Monday to Friday and is closed on weekends, so a morning call buys you far more of the day than an afternoon one.

The van covers those same boroughs and reaches six more where the driving takes longer than the work. Essington is ten minutes east past the airport on Route 420 or Route 291, and a good share of that job list is cars parked in business and airport lots all day — close to ideal, because nothing has to move. Chester is fifteen down I-95 or that same Route 291 industrial run. Upper Darby is about fifteen up the Pike or Lansdowne Avenue toward the 69th Street terminal. Swarthmore is Route 420 north through Prospect Park and Ridley Park. Springfield and Media are Baltimore Pike or the Blue Route, twenty to twenty-five in ordinary traffic. Distance is rarely what stops a mobile job, though — space and weather are. We need roughly three feet of clear ground along the damaged side of the car and a dry, sheltered spot for the adhesive to cure, so a driveway in Norwood or a work lot off Route 420 is easy and a car boxed in bumper to bumper on a narrow block in Darby often is not.
