Media does something no other town on this list does: it parks at an angle on its main street, with a trolley running in the same roadway. Reversing out of a space on State Street means backing into a live lane that carries cars, delivery vans and a trolley on rails, and it is done at walking pace by people who are being careful. That is still where a large share of Media's broken quarter glass and clipped mirrors comes from, because careful and clear are not the same thing. Away from the centre the town climbs into steep, curving, heavily wooded streets, and beyond those the county roads narrow and the surface changes character within a mile.
Because it is a genuine drive rather than a hop, most Media work goes one of two ways. Either the van comes out to a driveway or an office lot, which is straightforward here because off-street parking is normal, or you plan the trip around the job and we have the glass waiting when you arrive. Providence Road climbs north out of the centre, and the residential streets off it are steep, curved and thickly wooded. The courthouse and the county offices fill lots and kerbside spaces for the whole working day. Out past the edges of the borough the roads narrow quickly and run toward park land, where town asphalt gives way to patched county road and the potholes get deeper every winter.

The Blue Route does the work. The alternative, Baltimore Pike east and then Route 420 south through Ridley toward Prospect Park, is slower but steadier when the Blue Route is stopped.
