The first is stillness: no traffic pushing air and grit past an open bodyshell, and nobody brushing against a car with its windshield out. The second is room, because setting a pane means walking its full length with it, and a technician squeezed between a car and a moving lane works worse than one with space. That is why Yeadon jobs go out more readily than jobs on a dense borough street. The caveats are local: alley widths differ block to block, collection days can close one off completely, and a low branch or a carport beam over the roofline gets in the way of setting glass.
Weather is the only other variable, and it applies to windshields alone. The bond gains its strength through a reaction with ambient moisture, so the day's temperature and humidity decide the honest drive-away figure, which you are told rather than handed a stock hour. Rain landing on primed metal stops the job outright.
