The first hour after you find the window gone matters more than the appointment does. Cover the opening with heavy plastic or a contractor bag, and tape it to painted bodywork rather than to the rubber seals, because tape on rubber lets go in the first gust and takes the seal's finish with it. Run the tape from inside the door frame where you can reach, so the wind cannot get under an edge. Then empty the car of anything worth taking, photograph it as you found it if you are claiming, and leave the window switch alone. Broken glass sitting on the regulator carriage will jam it or burn out the motor if you try to raise what is left of the pane.
When we get to it, the pane goes into the run channels and onto the regulator, the belt seals are refitted, and the door is put back together. The part people underrate is what comes out. Cubes settle in the base of the door and stay there, rattling on every crossing and working their way back up through the felt channels against the face of your new glass. So the cavity gets vacuumed, the channels get cleared, and then the window is run up and down repeatedly with the door open and shut, listening for anything left behind.
